To Edify

Ephesians 4:24

Speak words that edify.....words that impart grace to the listener.

 Don't you enjoy being with people who leave the fragrance of life within your heart and thoughts when you part company?

People whose kind, gentle, thoughtful words edify and leave one hungering for further fellowship.

We are told to speak to one another in Psalms, hymns  spiritual songs...to sing and make melody in our hearts to the Lord.

If our hearts are steadied upon the Lord and His loveliness and our minds are humming tunes of Him and His blessings within,  those thoughts will flow from our hearts and words as we speak to others.

This will be a fountain of beauty and life to those we speak to, and perhaps will water a weary soul bringing rest and peace to them.

There's plenty of disagreeable words inundating every heart each day....why should we bring more of the same?

As children who belong to an all wise and all loving Father we can be encouragers....people who uplift and elevate with our carefully chosen words.

It really not necessary to ramble and wander with our words.

We can seek allow the Holy Spirit to guide this area of our being just as He controls, guides and leads other areas of our life.

We just need to  slowwww down, take a moment with Him, ask for His control, then allow Him to speak into our hearts what He knows will bless and edify both us and those with whom we share our thoughts and words.♥️
