Unbearable Situations

True contentment is found by trusting the Lord in seemingly unbearable situations.

A man once complained to someone, "Life is unbearable for me and my family. Nine of us live in one room. What can I do?"

The man listening thought for a moment and then said, "Bring your goat into your room with you, then come back to me in one week."

A week later the man came again more upset than before! "We cannot stand it!" he complained, "The goat is filthy! Things have gotten much worse for us!" To this his friend replied, "Go home now, let the goat out and return to me in one week".

The man returned a week later excited and full of joy exclaiming, "Life is beautiful! We turned the goat out and now its just the nine of us in that one room! We enjoy our lives now!"

In every difficulty we have the choice between choosing contentment or contempt.

Ecclesiastes 5:20 says God wants to keep us occupied with the joy of our heart. ...that joy is Jesus.

As we occupy our thoughts in Him, our joy remains steadfast, our hope is secure.

In Jesus is the fountain of life.... Psalm 36:9....all our fountains are in Him.

As we come to Him in our thirst He gives us living water so we no longer thirst for something outside of Him to meet the need He has created in our hearts for love, peace, value and joy.

All our needs are fully met in Him.

Full contentment is found by trusting the Lord.
