For Today

 

For today.....I will unplug from outside voices.

For today..

 I will prepare simple meals to enjoy with my family.

We will pray a simple blessing of gratitude together for God's merciful gift of enough to put on the table. We will read God's Word as

we share our meal together.

For today... I will enjoy taking time to make

a lovely pot of tea and drink it from a pretty

porcelain cup.

I will gather my thoughts during this time and sing praise to the Lord.

I will enjoy reading His Word and

meditating on His promises.

For today....I will go to my garden 

and pick the last

of the flowers I planted so long ago

when it was Springtime.

I will arrange them in a beautiful vase,

taking time to enjoy this gracious 

gift from the Lord Who is the Creator

of all things lovely.

For today...I will take time in my yard

to listen to the birds, and watch the squirrels

as they chitter and scamper.

I'll remember to consider the birds of 

the air who neither sow, nor reap, nor

store away in barns because their Creator

feeds them and cares for their needs.

For today...

 I'll take a little walk

and enjoy the meadows and hills.

I'll remind myself of Psalm 121,

"I look into the hills,

where does my help come from? 

It comes from the Lord, the Maker

of heaven and earth."

  

He watches over me. 

He is near.

For today...

 I will open my door

to others who need encouragement 

and prayer.

 I will be one who speaks

life and words that edify.

I will be a reassuring smile,

and a warm hand to hold.

I will share what I know is true

of Christ's promises and share hope.

For today...

I will sit in my little

corner in my little prayer chair.

My voice and heart will enter

behind the veil seeking the Lord's

love and Light to reach into the hearts

of family and friends. I will ask His

guidance and protection for them.

For today.. I will pray for my 

beloved country and it's people 

and leaders.

I will ask the Lord Who reigns above 

all the earth to bring healing and revival

not just for my country,  but for all countries.

I will ask Him to bring the peace of Jesus

into hearts and homes and to guide us,

and be with us in His powerful love.

For today..when the evening comes,

I will create warmth and rest for

my family and our little home.

We will lie down and sleep in

peace, knowing the Lord alone

makes us dwell in safety.

For today.....

I will live in Christ's hope and peace.
