Strangers and Pilgrims On Earth

A certain scripture kept running through my heart yesterday as I puttered through my home and enjoyed the beauty
outdoors in my garden.

The beautiful blue sky reminded me that I am only journeying through this earth and that each day is precious.

Each day is one more opportunity to pray and live life fully for my Savior, and look forward to seeing His face one day.

The verse that stayed on my mind through out my day was Hebrews 11:10, "looking forward to that city with foundations whose architect and builder is God "

Verses 13 and 16 mention the people who confessed that they were just
 strangers and pilgrims on earth;
people longing for a better country,
a heavenly country.

I consider it a privilege to be alive
 on earth right now.

It's a time of great opportunity to stand in the gap in prayer.

A time to watch God's sovereign Hand at work bringing forth all things He has planned for this earth.

It's an exciting time....
but it's not always a comfortable time.

I long for the peace and beauty of heaven, yet I am here in the midst of unknown and unfamiliar changes.

Like Abraham in Hebrews 11:27 I can
"endure by seeing Him who is invisible."

Faith in my unseen heavenly Savior keeps hope alive through the long years of journey through the earth.

Things are changing.

Things feel different.... unfamiliar.

Jesus never changes.

Staying focused on His face
brings peace to the heart.

So....keeping one eye on the city I am journeying to,
and keeping an eye on Jesus,
I enter this new day in peaceful
anticipation and prayer.

I leave you with Charles Spurgeon's
favorite hymn ...a favorite of mine also.

The Sands Of Time Are Sinking
