A Merry Heart Doeth Good

The Lord blessed us with a beautiful ice storm this weekend.

We're  enjoying cuddling up in our warm cottage with some hot soup, good books and movies.

Isn't the Lord gracious to send such beauty into our lives?

The ice covering makes the whole world sparkle.

This beauty brings joy into my heart.

The Lord expects His children to enjoy the blessings of life.

One of the fruits, or blessings, in every child of God is the ability to see and enjoy beauty.

Life is full of goodness.

It's ours for the taking.

Listen.....there's always going to be what I call...the other side....
the opposite of beauty, light, joy and brightness.

I personally don't choose to live there
or look at it for long.

Why bother messing with that when there's beautiful things all around?

Choose to do something each day that
brightens your own heart and the heart
of those around you.

Eat more cake!

That's a good thought....

Doesn't this pineapple upside down cake look good? We sure enjoyed it.

Do something nice for your neighbors.

Mail a letter or little package off to cheer someone you love.

Happy birthday cake for my darling neighbor...she's a gift from the Lord....

Take a little day time to visit a cute store.
We enjoy a lovely spot called Classic Touches
in a sweet hamlet called Amelia.

We pack a picnic lunch with real tea and teacups to enjoy on arrival, then go in a spend a little money on something beautiful to brighten
our little cottage.

Isn't this a sweet retreat?!

Just walking in the front door
brightens my day!

The ladies in here are always
so cheerful and kind.

Sweet ladies......
life is what we make it.

It's not a rehearsal for a later date,
this is what we have.

Let's wring every drop of goodness
we can out of each day.

Hug your sweetie. Tell him
how much you love and appreciate him.

Send a smile of some sort to
those you love through the phone or mail.

Sing.
Just hum and sing.

It's proven that singing actually
changes your brain waves for the better.

We've been busy doing puzzles
and found ourselves singing a happy
tune together last night.

Maybe it's silly but it made us
laugh and enjoy our evening.....
Try it for yourself and see if you smile too....

" A merry heart doeth good like a medicine" Proverbs 17:22

I've lost count of the puzzles we've finished this year. It's a good way to sit together, chat and spend time with family.

You may even find yourself singing a happy tune!

Jesus came to give His children abundant life.

Even when troubles visit, we can find our portion of joy in Him.

He never calls us to live in blackness or gloom.

The world may enjoy chaos or darkness, but we are children of light. We seek goodness and beauty because our Father is good and beautiful.

He tells us to think about what is good and pure and lovely and honorable.

It's out there. It's ours to enjoy.

We do live in a world of beauty. We simply need to look for it and ignore the ugly and morose.

Today can be a good day if we focus on the goodness of the Lord and make a deliberate choice to gaze on Jesus and thank Him for all His blessings.

And......Spring is on the horizon!

It may take awhile before it shows up....but it's on the way!

I usually leave you with a hymn, but today I'm leaving you with a favorite song I play when Spring arrives...

Happy Valentine's Day.....with love...

Bing....in Spring Spring Spring.....
