Consider The Birds
"Consider the birds of the air, they neither sow, nor reap nor gather crops into barns, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than them. Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?" Matthew 6: 26-27
There we have it...the simplest of truth.
God takes care of His children. Our needs are in His Hands.
Worry doesn't help any situation. It doesn't build faith or add anything good to our lives.
Yet, we do tend to worry at times or question God concerning some circumstances.
I think this is why the Word tells us to consider or ponder the birds of the air.
If we take time to contemplate the world God has created, it can take our mind off our worries, questions and anxious thoughts, and give us a new perspective on things.
We've been watching a bluebird family build a nest in a birdhouse my husband just built. He saw the male bird bring mama bird some food the other day. She is sitting on her nest right now caring for her little unhatched eggs. Such a sweet picture of how things were created to be.
God made His creation to function in harmonious beauty.
Even though people have strayed from this path of blessing, the rest of creation, by instinct, follow God's purpose and plan.
Isn't it lovely to observe creatures who don't have a sin nature functioning according to God's plan?
There's beauty and order in the world about us that speaks to our hearts of how life could be if man just set aside their own will and lived according to God's revealed plan.
The ugly scars of the world about us only prove how sorrowful life can be when man (the only creation with a will or choice to leave God's plan) goes on a path apart from God.
Life isn't meant to be ugly.
God created only beauty.
In considering the birds of the air, or any of the amazing animals in our world, we learn lessons about God's plan for earth when He created our beautiful planet.
Romans 1:18-20 tells us that people have no excuse for living in unrighteousness.
The things He has made in the beautiful creation surrounding us leaves us with no excuse for unbelief or rebellion against Him.
