A Place To Be At Peace

My sweet daughter created a lovely journal for me recently. On the front cover was a thought on humility. ....

Humility is perpetual quietness of heart. It is to have no trouble. It is never to be fretted or vexed, irritable or sore, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing against me.  It is to be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised;  it is to have a blessed home in myself where I can go in and shut the door and kneel to my Father in secret and be at peace, as in a deep sea of calmness, when all around and about is trouble.

Are you in need of peace today?

Are you seeking a quiet refuge from the storm?

Isaiah 26:20 comes to mind at times like this...Come my people, enter your room and close the door behind you, hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past.

Storms are a given in our world. They can be counted on throughout our short journey on earth. It's important to have a refuge and resting place where we can gather strength and renew hope and peace.

The Lord didn't create us to live in continual tension or worry. He came to give us abundant Life, and peace and joy.

In order to make this peace a living reality in our own heart we must enter "behind the veil" into the sweet presence of our Father. Here we find an anchor for our soul. Hebrews 6:19

As we kneel before Him in quiet trust He fills our heart. In His presence is fullness of joy. In His Light we see Light. Psalm 36:9

We have no anchor in any storm apart from Jesus. We cannot create our own peace and steadfastness. We need to anchor ourselves to Him so that we are not tossed about in the waves of trouble.

We cannot create Light, warmth and hope within our own heart. We need the Presence of the Light of the world. When we disconnect from Him all manner of darkness and fright can trouble our thoughts and distress our mind.

There's a way through....a path to hope and peace. Once we enter His presence, bowing our knee in His presence, we have found our resting place.

If He touches your heart, peace returns.

If He takes over your problems, peace returns.

If He says it is well, be not afraid, peace returns.

If He lays His hand upon your head the peace that passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind.

There are battles we must fight and victories we will win as children of God, but even warriors need a place to rest and find renewed strength.

Enter behind the veil dear heart.

There's an anchor for your weary soul waiting in the presence of Jehovah.
