Just A Sweet Day

A warm batch of Amish Potato Rolls

It's been a rainy,
putter in the home kind of day.

Each new day brings a lovely surprise of color and cheerful chirpy birds.

It's delightful.....just delightful.

Thank you Lord for Your gift of Spring.

Little gifts have blessed our days.

My sweet husband has been purchasing the pottery seen in the photo above for me
over the years.  It's hand painted pottery made from our red clay in Virginia. There is a little factory in a nearby village called Emerson Creek Pottery that creates these sweet pieces.

I would like to decorate my whole home in Emerson Creek creations, but, alas, they are a bit on the pricey side.

We have come upon many pieces at a second hand boutique we enjoy visiting.
The cost there is minimal so we've been picking up a few treasures here and there over time.

My favorite is the blue Iris. Isn't it pretty and so delicate. I was excited when we found this lamp at the second hand store!

The flower pot above with the blue iris holds
a new planting from a beloved plant a friend shared with me thirteen years ago.
The plant was enormous, and I recently tried to transplant it and it began to die.
I was able to salvage some pieces and root them to plant new baby plants.

I was so sad when my big beautiful plant died as it was a memory from my friend in Montana. Hopefully this new sprout will grow up to be as lovely.
The plant was called Sherry after my friend who  gave it to me😊

Am I the only person who names her belongings?

I call my car Tilley....short for Matilda.
When she got new tires last month we don't say the van needs new tires, we say Tilley got new shoes.

My husband has three trucks and a Jeep....Jack, Cotton, Rudy and Chief.

Our Mercury Marquis is called Marquita....why am I telling you all this?

I guess I'm rambling tonight.

I just enjoy talking about ordinary and homey things sometimes.

Some days I hear things that seem so odd and out of balance. It's just so nice at times like that to bake a pan of potato rolls and water my plants.
Life seems more balanced when I take time to putter and focus on the ordinary.

If you need a little encouragement tonight I'm leaving you with a scripture and a hymn to brighten your heart.

Let's remember...
Jesus loves us.
He is in control of all things.
He told us not to worry.
He told us to live just one day at a time.
He gives us some beautiful things to enjoy.
He is available day and night.
The prayer room is open 24/7.
He is coming back soon.

Love and hugs💕

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippines 4:6-7

Sometimes when I'm driving in Tilley my van I put this sweet hymn on and play it over and over.......
