Tucked In With Prayer

When you were small and just a touch away, I covered you with blankets against the cold night air. But now you are tall and out of reach, I fold my hands and cover you in prayer.

I recall the above poem from when my children were young.

Mothers carry their children in hearts of prayer daily.....all day....even all night at times.

My grandma once said to me that to have a child was to forever have your heart walking outside of your body.

Not being a mother at the time I really couldn't understand her words.

I understand now.

If you're a mother and grandmother you know what it is to have your loved ones out in the world away from your loving touch.

Sometimes we wish we could cover, hold and protect those we love and cherish by hiding them under our wing so to speak.

There comes a day when we can no longer "tuck them under covers in a safe warm place."

How precious it becomes to us to be able to cover them in prayer, and to know our dear Father has them tucked under His wings in loving care and protection.

God tells us that the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

We may not see with our eyes the power of prayer, but mighty forces are released on earth as we come into the throne room of prayer.

It's a place of refuge and hope.

God is in control.

He is Sovereign and mighty to save.

No matter how the storms blow, we have a refuge safe and warm.....the Arms of Jesus.

My prayer friends and I have just seen some mighty answers to prayer recently.

God is mighty to save, heal and deliver.

We have much to bring to the throne of Grace right now. It seems we are continually on our  knees seeking our Father's mercy and help.

But that's okay.
This is our privilege as
children of the most High King.

Life becomes more serious each day.

God is equal to the need.

The enemy is defeated even though darkness seems to cover the earth.

The Son is shining above the clouds.

He is Victor.

Fear not.

God answers prayer.

He can cover and protect the hearts, minds and bodies of those we cherish.

A mother shared that she awoke four times one night in prayer for her truck driver son.

He called her the next day and told her he was exhausted from his drive because four different times he almost lost control of his truck in a stormy nights drive.

Last Thursday I felt an unusual need to pray for my diesel mechanic husband and his work crew that no trucks would fall on anyone and hurt them during that nights work.

I thought it an odd prayer at the time but my daughter and I prayed together.

A few days later my husband mentioned that a truck had accidentally fallen off a jack and deeply frightened the young mechanic he was working with. The young man told my husband he had awoken recently yelling in his sleep from a dream that a truck fell on him. He was very shaken. This situation happened on the Thursday night I was praying against such an accident.

We don't know how many times God has spared our precious ones through prayer.

No valley is so dark or frightening that God is not still in control and powerfully at work.

Pray without ceasing.

Pray over every detail.

God Answers Prayer.

From the book Mimosa.....
"Has it ever struck you that there
is no one thing in the whole of
Christ's discourses to which
He has given such emphasis as
that of the certainty of prayer
being answered."

He may not always answer in a way we think He should, but He is answering and working out all things according to His wisdom and will.

We cannot cover our loved ones in a warm safe cocoon, but we can cover them in prayer.

God will take it from there, and our mother hearts can rest held in His Arms of love.
